Here are my thoughts so far on my metaphor, the film and some quotes I found helpful. I never got a chance to fully present my analysis of the film the Passenger and the posted image is just one of a few analysis diagrams. I'll discuss these images and their accompanying ideas further during next week's class hopefully.
The metaphor I have chosen is :
reflection is crossing borders (or reflection as border crossing) the wording I'm still not too sure about. Here reflection can be interpreted as either the act of reflecting (verb) or the (noun)reflection as an object.
Reflection as a means of identification... Reflection as a physical displacement - a crossing over... and reflection as mirroring ...as meditation. The act of...

Paul Demieville has stated in The Mirror of the Mind from Sudden and Gradual (edited by Peter N. Gregory) that the self is an 'interior absolute' and has described the 'mirror as a pan-buddhist metaphor'...mirrors are an 'illusion...double aspect of the seeing and the seen'
'Only the mirror and the reflected object really exist: the reflection is only an illusory perception'
I see mirroring and reflecting as an echo of reality. This is the condition I try to portray in my video and will hopefully amplify for next week.
