Last night I finished watching the epically long Andrei Rublev by Andrei Tarkovsky, which I had previously mentioned to Dave for the extremely prevalent use of water throughout the film. However, after having watched the entire film I would highly recommend it and also The Mirror to anyone in the class who have not seen either film. Tarkovsky's style is visceral, sensual, and experiential. All of which are important qualities for our own work, particularly in this studio.

also see stalker...especially for water...all of the tarkovsky i've seen so far has water running down walls out of ceilings, etc. but i think stalker's scenes of water are particularly affecting and effective when considering the character's relation and interaction with it to boot. rather than rent either the mirror or stalker, please as me and i'll lend them to you provided your good care.
try to pick up a copy of 'the architecture of image' by pallasmaaa
stalker is great...nostalghia also has some powerful scenes with water pouring into architecture...
Water is probably one of the things that really speaks to me in Tarkovsky, on a personal level water is something I really respond to...particularly rain.
