To overlap: 1. drag one clip into the video 1 track and then drag the other into the video 2 track and put them in the same time segment. 2. doubleclick on the top clip and it will appear in the editing window (The middle window). 3. click on the effects tab in the editing window and set the opacity to whatever you want, this should allow you to partially see the clip undernieth.
I think you can also just right click on the clip in the timeline window and set the opacity from there.
i figured out something that works pretty well. thanks though, ill hopefully post it and you can see what im talking about. i just shrunk the clip down and moved it to the corner of the viewing box, so i could see another clip playing at the same time.

I'm assuming you mean overlapping clips.
